The 2019 New York Harbor Fleet Week is in full swing. Staten Island’s Homeport Pier is hosting two U.S. Navy and two U.S. Coast Guard vessels now open to the public for tours. Commanders and ship personnel are on deck and on hand to display, discuss, and demonstrate the mighty military machinery.
Sailors are happy to talk about home towns, ship assignments, and future aspirations. NYHC conducted interviews on each vessel where deployment and missions were discussed. The overriding message is the fleet’s pledge to protect country, mariners, and ocean mammals.
