Governor Andrew Cuomo has provided New York State funds to ensure park employees are paid to keep Ellis Island and Liberty Island open regardless of the Federal shutdown that would have closed the parks.
The first day of 2019, Ellis Island was ground zero for Andrew Cuomo as he chose the location as a strategic backdrop for his third inauguration as Governor of New York. Taking direct aim at President Trump, Cuomo emphatically delivered a poignant message, “Never forget where you came from!”
