Whale deaths and offshore wind farms; a connection?

Our position:

We’re not yet sure there’s a link.  Correlation does not have to = causation.

We’re aware of these towers going up in near shore waters, and of course we’re aware of the deaths.

As we’re not marine scientists, all we can do here is peruse the literature.

Sources we believe to be reputable are consistently arguing there’s no proven, and, more importantly, no likely, connection between functioning wind towers and whale mortality.

They also believe there’s no connection between surveying for new towers and these deaths. The consensus is that boat strikes are the likely cause of most of this mortality.
